Dryer balls reduce the amount of time clothes spend in the dryer, and may prevent the need for dryer sheets. You can buy them at many department stores, or use tennis balls for the purpose.

Another option is to use ones made from felted wool. These can be quite pretty, and can the scented ones can double as air conditioners. Here is one on etsy.
