U.S. Drone Strikes Are Causing Child Casualties: Video and Report

By Robert Greenwald

During my recent trip to Pakistan as part of our upcoming documentary film, Drones Exposed, I was struck most by the stories told to me by children who had experienced a U.S. drone strike firsthand. The impact of America’s drone war in the likes of Pakistan and Yemen will linger on, especially for the loved ones of the 178 children killed in those countries by U.S. drone strikes.War Costs’ latest video (with accompanying report) brings attention to the children who have died as a result of drone strikes. The video names some of the children who perished in these strikes, and points out the obfuscation tactics of American officials who will not own up to the significant amount of civilian casualties that have occurred due to this legally- and morally-dubious policy. In addition to the video, War Costs offers this report detailing the effects of drone strikes on children. The findings come mainly from the diligent investigative reporting of TBIJ and the groundbreaking reports on the impact of drone strikes by Stanford and New York University researchers (Living Under Drones: Death, Injury and Trauma to Civilians from US Drone Practices in Pakistan) and researchers at Columbia University (The Civilian Impact of Drones: Unexamined Costs, Unanswered Questions). In an effort to compel answers about why these innocent civilians have died without acknowledgement or explanation from the U.S. government, War Costs is calling on the U.S. House of Representatives to debate and pass Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s bill that calls for more transparency regarding U.S. drone strike policy.

Obama is a fucking G..

like him or not his drone wars are actually killing terrorists. not the troops in Afghanistan or troops in Iraq. but the mechanical birds that rain hell from the heavens.

Al-Awlaki had a pin point precise missile strike down his car.

the breaking news is that the U.S. fears there may be cells inside the U.S. that are moving quickly as we speak to retaliate in the U.S. and other western countries.

no news link just go to cnn.com or any new station to hear all about it.

AL-Awlaki was very very important to AL-Qaeda …because he was extremely educated, political, and …basically an American. He has many ties and connections here which is why they are fearing retaliation.

say what you want about obama though. the economy may be fucked..

the troops may still be out there..

but his drone wars have kept soldiers from dying and have been pretty precise for the most part. in the so called “war on terror” he has accomplished more than any president…what he has accomplished g.w. bush could not have even in his wettest of dreams.

again, Obama has been flawed in many senses. but he is getting the job done as far as the so called “war on terrorism”. with deadly accuracy.

if he would pull the troops out and let the drones handle the work with strikes like this even the republicans would be sucking his dick. with all he has accomplished that they have tried to do for years and failed at…they are basically in simple terms..hating on that mans gangster.

these may be one of the few times where “terror alerts” are real and not just fear tactics. Al-Awlaki was the brains of the operation. had all the ties to america..infact they called him the “american Al-Qaeda…so stay tuned on this one.

Obama has finally given me a few reasons to not want my vote back. tip of the hat.

again, al-awlaki is a huge figure, not only in the middle east but also in cells in america(that do actually exist) …so yea..stay tuned..

obama knows…this shit is chess not checkers…never expected him to be a warlord, much less a good one. this is a political commentary so no source links. its all over the news everywhere if you wanna know more. stay vigilant. always.

TOLO News: Drone Attack Kills Three Civilians in Kunar, Afghanistan

A foreign force’s drone strike killed at least three civilians and wounded six others in the eastern Kunar province (of Afghanistan) on Wednesday, officials said.

Kunar Provincial Governor Fazlullah Wahidi confirmed the attack and said that these civilians were killed Wednesday night when foreign forces wanted to target the Taliban insurgents in the Dara Pech area of Nangam district.

“Preliminary information showed that a house fell prey to the drone attack, in which three civilians including a woman were killed and six others (including two women) wounded,” Wahidi told TOLOnews.

The Provincial Governor added that the victims belonged to one family.

In the mean time, Fazlullah Wahidi said that they have appointed a team to investigate the incident in the area and find out if there are more casualties.

The foreign forces have not commented on the attack until now.
