For the record:
- Complaining about fandom trends/jokes that annoy you? Fine. Do it. Do it as loudly and as often as you’d like. Again, this is tumblr, you have a tumblr to do exactly that sort of thing. You do not have to agree with everything that happens in a fandom
- Reblogging a post just to point out how stupid and awful and annoying the OP is for making a fandom joke/cross over? That feels like bullying to me. Maybe I’m alone in that. Maybe I’m alone in going back over my own posts and seeing the comments that people add when they reblog my art. You can’t reblog something and add a hurtful comment and assume the OP will never see it and will never be affected by it. That’s not arguing, that is insulting and shaming someone for their preferences.
- Edit: If you don’t think that this is a type of bullying, there are now a number of notes in my ask box now from people admitting they’ve been literally afraid to post about being excited for The Hobbit or Star Trek because they think people will call them out on only being interested because of the actors. There are people afraid to post about Sherlock anymore because their friends will make fun of them. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE WORLD ANYMORE.
