that’s why I love scenes where Cas and Sam reaffirms their love and affection for him. Cas, during purgatory, revealed that he was keeping the monsters away from Dean. He was thinking of Dean first and that surprised Dean, as if, after everything they’ve been through and stuff, Cas still thought of him. (x)

And Sam, oh Sammm—my appreciation rose even higher when he told Dean that Dean’s not a runt, dean’s a genius, dean’s the best hunter he’s ever seen, etc.
