The Escape
The five year old huddled in the corner of his closet, as far away from the door as he could manage. Father had been drinking again, mother was high, and he knew that meant the beatings would start soon.
“Where are you, boy?!” The shout, almost a scream really, echoed up to him as his father pounded up the stairs. He whimpered and hugged Mr Bear closer to his chest. The blanket tugged tighter around his shoulders. The thought to call for Balty crossed his mind as the closet door slammed open and a rough hand dragged him into the room by the roots of his hair.
He batted at the hands and tried to escape. His father shouted profanities at him as he kicked and threw the boy across the room. “Morans do not cry, you little shit!” Sebastian pulled against the bruising grip on his wrist and earned another throw to the ground, this time by the hand ripping at his hair.
“BALTY!”
-smiles over his shoulder- Hello, dearest~
