DIY FRIDAYS: OMBRÉ VEST
Since I don’t have classes every friday, I’ll try to make it as my #DIYfridays
First ever project: Ombré vest.

…
Requirements:
Denim vest
Dye
Basin
Measuring Cup
Percolator (optional)
Stainless stirrer
STEPS
1: Boil water using a percolator or simply boil water in a pan.
2: Wash the denim vest & Rinse well
3: Put 1/4 hot water in the measuring cup and add 1/4 of your choice of dye color. Stir.

Make sure to stir the dye well for better results :) As of the choice of dye brand, I prefer the Sun Shine brand because it stains more and it’s bigger than Venus dye.
4: Put warm water in your basin (Just enough to cover half of the vest)
5: Pour into the basin 1/16 of the dye solution from the measuring cup. Stir.
6: Put half of the vest and leave it for 10 minutes.

NOTE: To have the graded wash effect, remove atleast 3 inches of the vest every 10 minutes while adding dye solution simultaneously.
7: After finishing the first half of the vest, make another color solution and do the same instructions. Steps 3-6.

Always remember to stir the dye solutions well.

8: After doing the steps, rinse the vest well and hang it till it dries up.
9: Wear it with style & confidence. haha! Enjoy! :)

DIY Fridays

Do you see that lovely, bright yellow colored fabric? Well I will let you in on a little secret I have just found today, and what sparked my DIY Fridays. I have been in the mood to make some bracelets and revamp some old shirts! And I came across this picture. Do you have old fabric t-shirts that are sitting in a draw never being worn? Well not only can you turn them into cute bracelets, but what if your white t-shirts aren’t cutting it? Maybe you want to go for a bright yellow, blue, or pink?
Solution; Got old tissue paper lying around? If so good! If not go get some! Why? Because you can dye fabric with it!! (: Just put the tissue paper color of your choice(one sheet) and put it in a bowl with your bracelet. Add boiling water and let sit for about 5 minutes or so. Carefully drain the water and TADA! Dyed fabric! I might try this later if I find any old white t-shirts because I am making some of these bracelets hopefully tonight or tomorrow. (:
Have fun!
