A couple of months ago I came across a blog called Curbly while searching the www for something pretty to hang over the tv. Curbly led me to Toilet Paper Flower Art tutorial on Growing Up Creative. Thanks to her step-by-step tutorial and all of my friends collecting their toilet paper rolls I was able to make my very own piece!
My inspiration…

My version…

My version is a little different, but I like it a lot.

If you look closely at this photo (below), you can tell that I only spray painted the outside of the paper rolls, the inside I left the brown cardboard. But when it is hanging on the wall you can’t tell at all.

The tutorial on Growing Up Creative is perfect, so I will let you get it there. But I must say that I took a bit of a different approach to the gluing. I hot glued the petals and leaves instead of using wet glue and clothing pins to hold it until it dried. Let’s face it, I didn’t have the patience. Hot gluing worked perfectly for me and allowed me to put it up on the wall in about an hour! It is pretty flimsy, so it needed several nails to hold it in the shape that I wanted.
Everyone that comes to my house, including my mother-in-law thinks that it is piece of iron artwork. I don’t know if I see that, but that is because I know it is made of toilet paper rolls. But nonetheless, I’m glad it doesn’t look like it is made of toilet paper rolls.
On Pinterest I found some another versions that is nice too…different style, but it would be easy to make as well.
