Feminists of Smith Unite! will be hosting a panel on Diversity in Feminism.

Why is feminism (“the f-word”) stigmatized? What does feminism mean to different communities?

Discussion will focus on what feminism means in communities of color, trans* communities, in lower socio-economic communities, and other cultural implications of participating in a feminist movement.

Presenters include a Transcending Gender student rep, Kat Dunn of the Hamphsire Interfaith Cot Shelter, Smith’s own Professor Riche Barnes, and a representative from Hampshire College’s Men Against Patriarchy.
