“Every day you should set the simple goal to be more awake and less distracted.”

—Russell Simmons

“... it’s better to work highly focused for short periods of time, with breaks in between, than to be partially focused for long periods of time. Think of it as a sprint, rather than a marathon. You can push yourself to your limits for short periods of time, so long as you have a clear stopping point. And after a rest, you can sprint again.”

—Engagement pro Tony Schwartz’s productivity tip? Dedicate 50-90 minute bursts to focusing on just one task.

“Get your news from nature and not from mainstream media. Propaganda is not news. It is scripted fabrication”

—Jurne Azubiah

Distraction (Brent/Ferdy)

He was still in need of distraction today.

This entire week was nothing but bad memories and hanging guilt 24 hours a day. But… He couldn’t change what happened. Might as well distract himself.

A run to the pharmacy would give him that. So, he left his Hunter gear at home. Even his grey jacket and, surprisingly, his earrings. They were in a small box next to his bed, and they’d stay there until this week was out. He looked so plain now. Plain, almost indistinguishable human as he looked through the pharmacy. Tossing a healthy amount of bandages in his basket and an almost unhealthy amount of pain medicine bottles.

He hadn’t been paying attention before bumping someone in the shoulder, and he quickly muttered a “Sorry ‘bou’ that.”

  • All I want to know is Why?
  • Why do I have to see the evil in the world?
  • Why do I have to hate myself so much?
  • Why is cutting myself the only way?
  • Why won't other distractions work for me?
  • WHY? WHY? WHY?
