My reaction to fanfiction where Daryl calls Carol "woman"

I just get this visceral reaction whenever I read it, because Daryl has never referred to Carol that way.  He referred to her as “lady” when he was going off at her the night after they found Sophia (when he was angry at her for not attending the funeral, and hurt and angry in general).

And I don’t think Daryl would ever call Carol “woman” at this point.  It’s demeaning and obviously Daryl would not refer to her in a demeaning way…not at this point in their friendship/relationship.

*EDIT*:  Okay, using the word “woman” isn’t necessarily demeaning.  I just don’t picture Daryl calling her that.  Even in a…ughhh…moment of passion….I think he’d probably groan or whimper “fuccckkkk” or “shittttt”
