New Horned Viper Species Discovered in Tanzania
Matilda’s horned viper, a new snake species, regards the camera with a steady stare.
The “beautiful, heavy-bodied bush viper” sports black and yellow zigzag markings and yellow, hornlike scales above its olive-colored eyes, Tim Davenport, the Wildlife Conservation Society’s country director for Tanzania, said in an email.
But few would be envious of this green-eyed creature’s rare status. Its forest habitat, already smaller than about 40 square miles (a hundred square kilometers), is declining due to human development and other factors, said Davenport, whose group made the joint discovery with the Science Museum of Trento, Italy.
random fact ;)
Scientists have discovered a species of frog with an inflatable nose.
The frog, which has been appropriately nicknamed “Pinocchio,” was discovered in 2008 by a group of biologists in the Foja Mountains of Indonesia. Apparently the frog’s lengthy schnoz fills with air whenever it sings!
I am worried..
Counted 87 reels of tread, 4 bags full of fabric, 9 pieces of felt, 1000+ studs, 8 tapestry wools, 6 canvases, 14 balls of yarn, 4 packs of pins, 20+ eyelets, 17 glitter tubes, a shit load of unspun wool, 5 fabric paints, 14 embroidery threads, 4 foam sheets, a pack of multicoloured balloons, glues- the list could seriously carry on :/ This is the amount of crafty things I’ve accumulated over about 2ish years.
I even found thread in my leopard print heels and under the printer flappy thing :/ Its not that my room is a pig sty, its just things I’ve put into boxes under my bed or in drawers and completely forgot about :/ I really wanna re start my online craft shop..
…more hours in a day please?
