Your last sentence was very much at the heart of many third wave feminist theories at the time. But I do think it wasn’t understood to mean that. There was a call to understand gender and sex together and instead challenge controlling peoples hobbies

I have heard some radical feminists say that women shouldn’t allowed to be feminine, I’ve seen some say that feminine women are “hand maidens of the patriarchy”. Sometimes I think the reasons rad fems are easy on trans men (or easier on us than trans women) is because they think we were born female and are all  ’masculine’, ignoring there are a lot of princesses on our side. I understand believing that women don’t have to be feminine and believing that little girls shouldn’t be forced to be feminine, same with little boys and being masculine. Personalities shouldn’t be forced onto people. But then to literally believe that women shouldn’t be allowed to be feminine is something extra, doesn’t that go against basic feminist thinking, that a woman’s choice, is her choice and she should have the freedom to be who she wants to be. I’m not sure what this radical feminist post gender utopia will look like.
