for a second I thought i'd ask how you came up with Kizzy, if you just looked at a keyboard and thought "the z is next to the t, why not". but then I remembered that the US has QWERTY keyboards ... so, how did you come up with kizzy?
Ooo…story time. Though it’s not very exciting.
We’d had a cat—our first—for about fourteen years. He was white with black patches and a pink nose. His name was Dicey. Yes, I know…very unoriginal. Long story short, he was a great cat, and losing him was hard. The cats that came after Dicey weren’t quite as friendly, and I was constantly attracted to kittens that reminded me of him.
So the time came when I was starting to think of getting another cat, and I happened upon a cage of black and white kittens at PetSmart, which is a pet store chain here that invites local shelters to showcase their animals on the weekends for adoption opportunities. There were a few kittens in there, and I was immediately drawn to this adorable little white kitten with some small black patches and a pink nose that looked almost exactly like Dicey. It was laying in the front of the cage looking up at me. So I asked to open the cage, and the minute I did…
That kitten retreated to the back and this other white and black kitten comes racing forward and practically jumps out at me and into my arms. It was almost like fate. Or kismet.
So Kismet became his official name. Except Kismet quickly turned into Kizzy with all the cute kitten talk, as we humans are apt to do, and so that’s how Kizzy got his name.
It’s not like he answers to it anyway. :P
oh man, so many of my problems with fictional characters could be solved if they had polyamorous relationships. and the characters i talk about include these three idiots.
These three idiots need to get their shit together. Like seriously the movie it’s like Aubrey and Chloe are already together and suddenly it’s like oh awkward we both like this new chick.

I know. The funny thing is that most of the shows I watch have great continuity, but it still surprises me every single time something from many episodes ago is referenced correctly. DAMN YOU GLEE!

That would require me actually watching Bomb Girls, and I’m not really in the mood to do so. :/
haha, i know the feeling, it happens to me all the time as well. (i even watch adventure time sometimes, thinking “faberry would be great as bubbline”, so, you know.) but even though BG is set in canada in the 40s, i’d rather stay away from it
I get why you’d want to avoid it all together. I don’t have the same hangups obviously, but I think I can only handle one historical AU. Ancient Rome is a much funner place for my muse to play in.
betty is pretty cool, but it’s not a show i’d want to write fanfic for, mainly because I personally wouldn’t want to focus on that time period for a prolonged time, just for a fic.
What would probably end up happening for me is that I would write a Faberry fic that takes place in the Bomb Girls universe. :P They have ruined me. I can’t even watch Rizzoli & Isles without thinking of Faberry (Jane/Casey’s situation in season 3 immediately had me picturing an AU version of Faberry in a similar situation - so much angst!).
Very well, I will try to get my hands on a pdf, but the archives with access to the NWSA Journal where the article is only cover 1999-2012 and this was published in 1996. If I can’t find it, I can scan it (I have a conksuck copy complete with typos that make no sense like xEmily.)
The problem is, my scanner is awesome but he hates me, so I may need tips on how to make a big, clear scan image…
Also, looking forward to your screams of agony. I still remember my first time reading literary theory, my eyes bled for a week. Good times :p
