Dream Home by Bricks Amsterdam

Every once in a while I come across a photo of a home and think to myself, “Whoever designed this has nailed my style perfectly.” Last week while surfing one of my favorite blogs Desire to Inspire, I came across this space by James van der Velden of Bricks Amsterdam Design. It is relaxed with natural and comfortable accents, but still a little classy with lacquered black wood work, the art is eclectic… I could go on. I love this space. I would move in tomorrow.






Design Miami/ Basel Interprets “Conversation Pieces” for W Hotels

Their installation, called “It Takes More Than One,” functions only when two or more people stand before it. The segmented piece takes quantum physics to a literal level by turning on once people are attentive to it, and connecting two pairs of lamps with the same light beam.

New York Design Trip
This coming weekend our design class is going to New York, New York to tour design firms and get a sense for how different firms practice design. I’m hoping to visit these lovely gems: Siegel+Gale, AKQA, R/GA, 2x4, HUGE, and last but not least MoMA Design Studio. Can’t wait!
