Sign upLong Skirts
I arrived back from Africa on a Thursday night. On Friday, I went to my church thrift store and bought 6 long skirts.
Since I bought those skirts and had skirts to wear, I’ve found some lighter skirts that I had for summer and I’ve washed them. I’ve also done some looking around on the internet at finding online stores that sell modest clothing.
I’m expecting 2 new, long denim skirts that I ordered on MLK Day.
They have pockets, which is sort of exciting. Some of the skirts I bought had pockets, but it’s just weird to not have pockets when you have things to carry. When I was in Africa, I didn’t have much to carry, so it was less of an issue, and when I did have things to carry, I just carried them awkwardly and it was all good. But here, where I have keys, a phone, a wallet and all my stuff, pockets will be very useful. And denim skirts! I don’t even remember when the last time I had a denim skirt was… Maybe high school? And they’re long and modest denim skirts! I’m very excited (obviously). I think once these skirts arrive, I’ll have enough of a wardrobe that I’ll be done shopping. When I was wearing pants, I had many pairs, but I really only wore the same 4 pairs of jeans over and over. The only thing I will need to buy more of is leggings and tights. So far, so good!
A TREND THAT'S COME AGAIN, WHEN DOES IT END?
DENIM.
DENIM.
AND MORE DENIM!!!

These are just a few examples of the Spring’s newest, old trend, to return. As I’m sure, you’re probably all getting flash backs of our early childhood days. I know that when I see these items, the first thought that comes to mind was my first time riding a school bus to Kindergarten in the early 90’s. Perhaps a few of you are even reminiscing episodes of 90210, I’m pretty sure Tiffany Theissan’s stylist loved Denim skirts.
It’s claimed that the entrance of the fitted, form flattering, Denim Pencil Skirt is a coveted office look for the upcoming season. Refinery 29 makes it look easy in their article regarding the Cheap Thrill: A Smart Spring Staple That’s Perfectly on Trend.
What are you thinking about the return of the sassy staple for Spring 2012?
