“One hot afternoon during the era in which you’ve gotten yourself ridiculously tangled up with heroin you will be riding the bus and thinking what a worthless piece of crap you are when a little girl will get on the bus holding the strings of two purple balloons. She’ll offer you one of the balloons, but you won’t take it because you believe you no longer have a right to such tiny beautiful things. You’re wrong. Sometimes, it doesn't all work out.
Dreams come crashing down, hopes and aspirations fall through. Things don’t work exactly as you planned them; the way you saw your future doesn’t line up with your present. What you thought was good enough, wasn’t. But it’s not reason to give up. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel; if the tunnel collapses, you dig through the rubble. You salvage what you can, take what you’re given. You just have to make the best of your scenario, and hope for the best. Because if someone says you’re not good enough, take the time to show them that they weren’t good enough.
