Also known as the Salt Sea, the lake borders Jordan to the east and Isreal and the West Bank to the west. It sits at 423 meters below sea level which makes it Earth’s lowest point on land!
Many people believe the mud from the Dead Sea has special healing powers, and it’s often used in cosmetics. The sea’s also well known for the unusual buoyance caused by its high salinity. No need for floaties here — at a density of 1.24 kg/L, visitors can get their float on hands free!
