Most of the time, I am 
convinced I know myself
so well that I am taken aback
when I forget the little things,

like how I hate eating noodles
with a fork and my skin bruises
like a peach, that I am too good
for boys who want all of my body
but none of my mind,

a warning: sometimes, we think
we know what’s best for us, but
a truth: we don’t always.
