Attack Of The Mole Men
The DickiesThe Dickies - Attack of the Mole Men
We need more bands like The Dickies… is it just me, or does no one really do this kind of stupid wacky shit anymore? And no, Me First and The Gimmie Gimmies doesn’t count.

Nights In White Satin
The DickiesAs I’ve mentioned before, I’m a big fan of cover tunes, so here’s a particular favorite of mine. This is The Dickies with their take on the 60’s Moody Blues classic, “Nights In White Satin”. I’m not sure how The Dickies managed to pass me by unnoticed when I was a teenager, but I’ve certainly grown a place in my heart for them in the last couple years. At a time when many of their peers were making fun yet serious music, The Dickies were making comical, slapstick, bawdy punk rock tunes that were as edgy as they were hilarious. In a scene where there can be a lot of ego and exclusivity, The Dickies are a constant reminder not to take oneself too seriously. However, even though there lyrics were full of humor and silliness, the band, musically, still packs a hell of a punch with some of the most hard charging, aggressive, and ferocious tunes of their time. If you don’t own them already, the first two Dickies albums are pretty seminal punk rock records, snag’em if you see’em
