Harley-Davidson Recalls More Than 300,000 Motorcycles

Harley-Davidson is recalling 300,000 motorcycles that have brake lights that could fail to work and thus pose crash hazards for riders.

The rear brake light cords could be exposed to excessive heat from the exhaust system; the switch could then fail to light up the brake lamp when turned on, or turn on when not activated.

Reuters said Harley-Davidson will recall 308,474 bikes; about 250,000 in the U.S. and the rest outside the country, years 2009- 2011 in the touring and trike models.
