Nico Vassilakis is a Seattle-based multimedia artist, poet, and writer, and was a founder and curator of the long-running Subtext Reading Series in Seattle. His visual poetry videos have been shown at festivals and exhibitions, and can be seen online at staringpoetics.weebly.com. His latest publications are TEXT LOSES TIME, staReduction, Disparate Magnets, Protracted Type, and West of Dodge. With Crag Hill he edited The Last Vispo Anthology: 1998-2008, forthcoming from Fantagraphics Books.
David Abel is a poet, editor, teacher, bookseller, and curator. Three new books are hot off the press: Float, a collection of collage texts from Chax Press; Tether, a chapbook of poems from Barebone books; and Carrier, a chapbook of visual pieces from c_L Books. He is a founding member of the Spare Room reading series, a Research Fellow of the Center for Art + Environment of the Nevada Museum of Art, and a member of the Portland artists’ and writers’ collective 13 Hats.
Leo Daedalus is a polyartist-performer and the host of The Late Now, the thinking mammal’s live avant-variety-talk show in Portland and beyond. A book artist, writer, filmmaker, musician and purveyor of Dada-Fluxus mayhem, Leo shares his passion for experimental, avant-garde culture by means of inclusive ludic subversion, the unofficial mission of The Late Now. A möbius strip — or better, mathematical knot — the practice Lisa Radon engages is that of reading and writing in the most expansive sense of those words and with all of the complications they entail. She has written about art, edited writing about art, and written as art. Mark Owens is a performer and sound poet who began noodling with Fluxus contradictions about 15 years ago. He is inspired by this history but is not a Fluxus artist. He was flattered when Alison Knowles chose to perform his “Alphabet Sweep” event.
James Yeary publishes the psychogeographic serial my day with visual artist Nate Orton, undermining the immediate and the everyday with peripatetic introspective valencies to the outside world.
