So I was daydreaming about brollies, and wound up with a head canon where Steed & Mrs. Peel are Sherlock and Mycroft's parents.
Shelock & Mycroft’s parents. What might they have been like? Perhaps..spies for the British Government? Could explain why one son went into government and one went into being a detective…
Perhaps they were spies who liked brollies and coats and martial arts and science?!
If that’s the case, then The Avengers (a 1960s British spy show) provide the perfect solution.
Follow my logic:
What spy likes BROLLIES and being 1000% BRITISH and SUITS?!
John Steed. So does Mycroft Holmes.
This John Steed. He carries brollies all the time and never wears anything but a suit and is such a British gentleman that your eyes smart.
What spy likes TRENDY COATS and MARTIAL ARTS (aka Judo/Baritsu) and SCIENCE?!
Emma Peel. So does Sherlock Holmes.
This is Emma Peel aka Mrs. Peel. Aside from being gorgeous she’s a genius with chemistry and all sorts of science things, is a general badass who runs around Judo-chopping and shooting the bad guys, and is always ridiculously fashionable.
QED my head canon is now that Sherlock & Mycroft are the sons of John Steed and Emma Peel.
If Sherlock and Mycroft’s mom ever makes an appearance she will HAVE to be played by Dame Diana Rigg, and the same goes for their father being played by Patrick Macnee.
