It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man's genetic lineage--the notion that a man't intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors.”
—Ayn Rand, The Virtue of SelfishnessMaking a pact with myself to be more sociable, friendlier and just generally less crude and mean. I’m also going to start taking more care of myself and my skin, and hopefully my school motivation will increase with that too. I don’t want to be cold and harsh anymore, I really want to be someone likable, someone happy.
“I thought you were good looking, until I clicked view more photos” is rude as all hell. Just saying. What, so you’re going to stay away from that person based on their looks? Pretty shallow move, honestly. An ugly personality is more important than “ugly” looks, mind you. That person might be beating themselves up already for their “uglyness” for christ sakes. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

UPDATE 1-China Sept crude imports down 12 pct on yr, edge up from Aug
* Off a high base a year earlier* Below 5 mln bpd mark for 4th time in a row* Net imports of oil products lowest in a yearBEIJING, Oct 13 (Reuters) - China’s September crude oil imports fell 12.2 percent on a daily basis from a record high rate a year earlier and stood below a 5.0 million bpd mark for the fourth consecutive month.Customs data showed on Thursday that China brought in an average 4.98 million barrels per day (bpd), of crude oil last month, slightly higher than 4.95 million bpd in August. The September imports came off an all-time high at 5.67 million bpd in September 2010.In absolute terms, September imports came to 20.45 million tonnes of crude oil, down from 21.04 million tonnes in August, according to the General Administration of Customs. That contrasted with analyst’s earlier forecast that China’s crude imports would have recovered in September because of rising refineries throughput after maintenance and new plants coming onstream. The International Energy Agency said in September that Chinese oil demand grew 527,000 bpd this year, more than half of the global incremental oil use.China’s oil demand growth next year is unlikely to revisit the blistering pace of 2010 but at around 6 percent it will still be enough to underpin oil prices even as developed world economies struggle.Leading Chinese refineries were expected to raise their crude oil throughput in September to the highest level this year, after PetroChina restarted a major crude unit in its largest Dalian refinery, a Reuters poll had showed.China has cut retail ceiling prices for gasoline and diesel by about 3 percent from Sunday, taking prices off record highs at a time when headline inflation pulled back slightly from a three-year peak.Imports of oil products, a big portion of which is often made up of fuel oil, fell 18.8 percent to 2.77 million tonnes in September, while exports of oil products rose 3.2 percent to 2.24 million tonnes, resulting net imports of 0.53 million tonnes, the smallest in a year, customs data showed.
