After my entire family told me they think I'm as delusional as my murderous sister and that the incident was both our faults, I would never disbelieve any other survivor. It's the worst feeling to not get the benefit of the doubt. I love you fellow rats.

I'm curious, could someone give me a bit of clarification on why gifts might trigger some people? Is there one major reason or several possible ones? I can't imagine why on my own. :)

There’s different ones.

Some people may worry about destruction of property, or having something important being taken away
Some people may have had gifts given with the expectation that something is to be owed in return.
Others may have had gifts to given to make up for some kind of hurt, and a negative association can form through that.

And I’m sure there’s more I could be listing but can’t think of right now.

I don’t mind questions on this blog because I like to think some understanding can help people, but I urge everyone to remember that if someone says they’re not comfortable with something that an explanation isn’t owed, and should only be asked if they’re comfortable with it, otherwise accommodate their request as best you can.
