You mentioned comp sci classes earlier, what classes are you taking? I tutored some CS classes last year and may be able to help.

it’s just intro so it’s entirely python

my professor is a bitter asshole that yells at you if you don’t grasp something right away and acts like he’s some sort of genius god and he makes me feel like utter shit just by sitting in his lectures

so i’ve just

stopped learning things in the godforsaken class

@crashmcdougal this is the dress as you can see it’s about $80-$90 but most good lolita dresses are in the $200 range and this can be made to fit

crashmcdougal replied to your post: Booking a trip is stressful

How far away are you? I live at the way southern tip of Illinois and take trains up to Chicago quite often. If you book early enough, it’s about $30 each way. Otherwise, $60.

I’m all the way in Maryland, very close to DC though.

I was looking at airfares and the cheapest I found was >$300!

I’m looking at the Amtrak trains and it’s giving me a roundtrip for $161 so that’s better.

It’s just 17 hrs of trip. ahh. idk man.

Did you not watch all of BBC Torchwood? I had assumed you did. The show got amazing in the second season.

No, no, I did. I just don’t remember that part.

Late reply is late. Hah, my moms addicted to couponing and I have to go clear out dozens of coupon toolbars that are just hijackers targeted towards computer illiterate housewives.

Oh dear god, that sounds terrible! My parents are using explorer and cares not of viruses, but that’s all. Have you tried having the “internet safety” talk with her? I’ve had it multiple times with my parents but they never listen or care, so I’ve just gone and installed chrome and firefox and shown them that (constantly telling them it’s faster because that’s the only thing they care about), and installed adblock and WOT for them.

crashmcdougal replied to your post: I am not able to access google or gmail?

Are you using Chrome? Sometimes it fucks up on me, not sure why but all my scans come back clean. Restarting the browser always works though.

Yeah, no. Mom’s Norton didn’t do shit, but since chrome was upsets because it didn’t know if google truly was google, which it probably wasn’t, I’m pretty sure it was a browser hijack. And when I went into chrome://plugins there was 15 plugins. I only remember there being two. So I inactivated like all except one and now it works perfect.

Ugh, yeah. That’s a recurring thing with CS professors. They all hate teaching the intro courses so they get all mean and take it out on the students. My uni requires all students in the College of Science to take the intro programming class.

hahahahaha yep. he’s extra bitter because the university denied his tenure so this is his last semester. i can’t even destroy him on the teacher evaluations :(

crashmcdougal replied to your post: Like with all really good things, I have no idea…

I love Sherlock. I had just finished re-reading my collection of all the Sherlock Holmes books written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, so it was fantastic to see how all classic capers were updated for modern times/audiences.

I read a few of the stories back in…middle school(?) and they were really good! Never gotten around to reading anymore though…for which I’m a little ashamed. :(
