Sign upDay 2 @FIDMLA Computer Illustration & Drawing Fundamentals
I learned more about Adobe Illustrator in my first class of Computer Illustration than I have over the past year of toying with the program here and there. My Professor is Diane Packer, and she seems great. I got to class pretty early and got to chat with her a bit. It was fun hearing about her experience and knowledge. Illustrator is the program I am most excited to learn and master at FIDM. I’ve been playing around in Photoshop since I was 12, but Illustrator is pretty much new to me, and for many instances its the wiser program to use for most applications. Luckily, Week 1 homework for this class wasn’t too bad. I’m still working on my project from my Critical Concepts class, so it’s nice getting a little breathing room.
I finished up the day with Drawing Fundamentals with Professor Will Binder. For someone who’s biggest artistic accomplishment was learning to stay in the lines when I was 5, I thought I did pretty darn good. We sketched a pencil sketch from our text book, and all things considered, I thought mine looked pretty good. I’m looking forward to this class, as I believe it will help me with vectorizing illustrations and the many sketches and drafts I will need to develop over the coming decades…
Going to call it an early night here, as I need to do a little more work on my Happy Face project and then head up to FIDM LA for Day 3 of classes, Desktop Publishing and Digital Imaging.
