When first discovered by the Consortium the Hi’la were talented artisans, weaving everything from baskets and clothing to their own habitat - a city of spliced, woven trees that formed husks for shelter and their regular (defunct) mating ritual.

The Consortium sought to optimize this natural hand-eye coordination during the selective breeding process known as the Great Cultivation. Only the most intelligent and docile - the omega to the Mum’luk alpha - were mated to generate this breed of assemblers - a new third-world laborer was born. Artificers were tasked with the manufacturing of common components for the advanced technology of the humans.

The irony of their inbred intelligence is that it provided the Artificer with the knowledge to reverse engineer the components they were burdened to assemble. Within a few generations the Artificers - armed with their own bootleg armor and weaponry - led a revolution against the traitor Mum’luk, installing their own economic system, free of Consortium control. 

The intricate weaving is one of the few Hi’la traditions that survived the Great Cultivation. Hi’la-crafted armor typically consists of woven bands of carbon and magnetically activated jellies in-lieu of the heavy, intellect demanding EXO of the cerebrally superior human, Albinid and Khor.

Why Is A Full Price iPhone 4S More Than An iPad 2?

In case you haven’t noticed, a full price unsubsidized iPhone 4S is more expensive than even the 3G versions of the iPad 2. The iPhone 4S comes in the same three sizes of storage as the iPad: 16 gb, 32 gb, and 64 gb. But the iPhone 4S is $20 more across the line than the iPad 2: at 16 gb, the iPhone 4S is $649 to the iPad 2 (3G) costing $629. Same for the 32 gb versions ($749 to $729) and 64 gb versions ($849 to $829). You may wonder why the iPhone 4S is more expensive than the iPad 2? After all, the iPad has a much larger screen and that screen has to be much more expensive than the iPhone’s 3.5 inch screen. It could be that the iPhone 4S has more expensive components than the iPad which surpass the cost differences in the screens. For example, the iPhone 4S has a much better camera on the back side. The iPad 2 has a 3 megapixel camera while the iPhone 4S has an 8 megapixel camera. Also, the optics in the camera for the iPhone 4S are significantly better. Also, the iPhone 4S has cell phone chips and antennas that allow the same model to run on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. This makes the iPhone 4S a world phone. The iPad 2 (3G) has more simple cell chips and antenna dedicated to either the CDMA network or GSM, not both. It is not a world iPad. It could be that there is are significant price differences in these components that justify the higher iPhone 4 cost. Also, other components may be more expensive on the iPhone than the iPad because they have to be smaller to fit into the iPhone.
