And, okay, I’m going to sum up the section in question real quick rather than repost it, because 500 words is a lot of words to put above a cut: this is the part of this story where Troy and Britta talk about Britta’s nervousness about seeing Rick — aka Subway, who she met in that episode where they fall in love 1984-style and has, in this story, been emailing with ever since — for the first time since he left Greendale. She explains that this is due to some fears and insecurities on her end, and Troy reminds her that she’s smart and capable and a really good person, and that if Rick didn’t see that, it would be his loss. Britta is moved and shows it, and they spend a few minutes in a sideways hug, Troy’s arm around Britta, Britta’s head on Troy’s shoulder. The moment is meant to establish the redrawn boundaries of their friendship, now that their sexual relationship is over — compassionate, warm, a little bit physical, a little more intimate than either of them tends to allow themselves to get with the others.
