July 18, 2011 - Scream It Like You Mean It Tour 2011
The concert was amazing. I had so much fun, and surprisingly I had so much room in the crowd also. Like, no one was moving…at all. I only stayed until I See Stars’ set was over. Meaning, I watched The Air I Breathe, ModSun and The Color Morale too.
TAIB was so amazing. High-five to their lead singer for making an effort to still play their set even when he got food poisoning.
ModSun was cool too. I didn’t know he’d be playing though. I need to start listening to more of his stuff. Hippy Hop :)
The Color Morale was fun. Not much people knew who they were. Their lead singer was giving out free shirts to crowd surfers and I’m just like, “Dammit.” Can’t crowdsurf with my TOMS. And he mistook our date for San Diego, lol.
I See Stars were exactly what I expected them to be! I missed them so much after the AP Tour. My God, when Zach was setting up I was like, “OH YEAH, ZACHY J!” and he gave me the cutest smile I’d ever seen on a guy. Not even kidding. Dude, I’m still shaking. They were perfect that night. I basically never want to miss any of their shows. But these two dudes behind me were all, “I See Stars are faggots.” Bro, please. Escort yourself out the door.

The first person I met was Jeff Valentine from I See Stars. Yeah, I used my iPhone because my camera has bad quality. He’s so adorable, I can’t get over it. Before I got my picture, some girl asked if she could have a hug and he was all chill about it. BUT THEN SHE LEGIT KISSES HIS CHEEK - YOU ONLY ASKED FOR A HUG. HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND AT HOME, HE DON’T WANT YOU. Ugh, h8.

After I met Jeff, my sister, her friends, and I walked back to watch a little of Chiodos’ set. We stood in the back a little by the mosh pit. I kept looking over because I’ve never seen one so close to me. I mean, I’ve only seen pictures of mosh pits. Anyway, we walked back to the merch tables and saw Colin Klika from The Air I Breathe. We didn’t hang out with him, just took a picture. Eh..

We all stood around for a while, still by the merch tables. Then, out of no where, Jimmy Gregerson of I See Stars comes into the room. I heard angels singing behind me when he did. My inner fangirl came out and tears almost fell. Come on, gotta show my love for him! He was super sweet. And I tried talking to him, but I got too nervous and all.

Aw, snap! So we saw Zach Johnson of I See Stars standing around and my older sister absolutely adores him. But then he goes behind the table and I walk over and ask if he could come back around so we could get a picture. He was good about it and we all stood there for an awkward three seconds before I said, “You were really amazing tonight.” and he thanks me and hugs me real tight. I mentioned it was my sister’s 18th birthday so she could get a hug too (which she did). Basically, after everything we said, he kept hugging us. We had some smalltalk before this little kid just takes him away hella rude. He was the same kid I met at The Maine’s show at The Filmore.

Before we met Jimmy, we were in line to meet Devin Oliver of I See Stars. He decided to go back to the bus so we didn’t meet him inside. We walked out of the venue and my sister poked me and was all, “There’s that Oliver guy you like.” My head shot back like some reflex and he was really there. I took a picture but we didn’t stick around because he went back to the bus again. Oh, and he had his brother Michael on tour with them and they look and sound exactly alike! Weird stuff…
I didn’t get to meet Andy Oliver and Brent Allen from I See Stars. Same with ModSun, The Color Morale, and the rest of The Air I Breathe. All in all, best show ever.
