Ah, cheeky Tom's Diner menu ...
… I pretty much love you.
I’ve often wished we could assign a monetary cost to the asking of stupid questions, and now, good old Tom’s Diner has done just that. So if you want to ask, “Are you still serving breakfast?” at a 24/7 diner … Or, “Is the hot chocolate hot?” … Or, “Do you offer a meatless salad?” at Tom’s, it’s going to cost you … exactly 38 cents each. By the way, my tab came out to $2.66. Hey, I had to know if I could order the portabella sandwich without the mushrooms … and six other stupid things. You can find the cheeky Tom’s Diner menu at 601 E. Colfax Ave. … right across the street from the Cheeky Monk!
Ah, Damian from Steve's Snappin' Dogs ...
… I pretty much love you.
This kid seriously loves his Steve’s Snappin’ hot dogs. And he seriously wants you to love your Steve’s Snappin’ hot dog, too. Or your smash burger. Or your Lindt chocolate truffle. No matter. “Throw a dart at the menu, and you are pretty much gonna land on delicious,” says Damian, and probably not for the first time. The minute you walk into Steve’s Snappin Dogs at Colfax and Monroe, Damian will have you sampling the juicy, smoky hot-dog meat they obtain exclusively from Thumann’s of New Jersey … which I gather (in complete ignorance of any expertise in such matters) to be a big deal in the doggie trade. Throw in a sample cup of Bull N Bush Allgood Amber Ale, and Damian, you’ve made a sale. Even if I did have my heart set on a “smash burger.” What’s that? You wanted a burger? Damian will soon have your mouth watering for one. He’ll have you convinced that a never-frozen smash burger from Steve’s just might be the greatest piece of meat to touch your tongue since you last visited Morton’s Steak House. Included in the cost of your burger is a hell of a story about the legal battle between owner Steve Ballast’s smash burger (lower-case), and the johnny-come-lately burger chain Smashburger (upper-case). … Steve’s smash came first, by the way, but some legal fisticuffs resulted in both smashes being allowed to co-exist. Originally from Connecticut and most recently from downtown Denver, Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs has become the face of East Colfax at Monroe, and Damian makes for a pretty hot (dog) face for Steve’s.
