EVENT: co-alescence
“Hey, Touko— uh, where are we goin—” Was she drunk? He stared at her incredilously for a good minute, trying to process her funky giggling until finally realizing that she had just dropped over completely, fumbling to hold her up and glancing down at the brunette in his arms.
“Did you get tipsy…?” he muttered under his breath, giving her a test shake, “Hey, wake up, it’s rude to do that, be a lady.”
Touko yanked her friend to one side, her arm hooked through his while she continued to giggle. She could barely walk, really.. bu all she could think of was him. His face, cute and blurry after she collapsed, her eyes heavy while trying to focus.
She crumpled in his arms, unable to carry her own weight any further. He shook her slightly, and she felt herself sober up just a little. A hand flew up to his face in a rugged motion, harshly stroking his face for a moment before she continued to speak again.
“I missed you.. while I was gone.”
Being a lady was no longer an option, she didn’t even know why she got so drunk — it wasn’t even like her to drink in the first place. But somewhere along her way home, she saw happy couples; many, many people in blissful and stupid love and couldn’t help but to feel bitter. Their parents always joked about this, and they even swore on their strictly platonic friendship that nothing would ever happen to them.., and yet now, she was weak, alone.. and barely alive in his embrace.
“People in love get it all wrong..” she murmured.. “but they’re so wretchedly happy.”

I am still in disbelief that the weekend was just as amazing as everyone says it was.
on a personal view, two years ago when i joined mozaic, i never thought that this one decision would change my life completely, and i have now went from trying to find a place in this world, to having some of the most amazing people in my life that many could argue some rarely get the chance to find.
At my Kodachrome interview they asked me what are your goals as a dancer, and all i could come up with was to dance. I thought it was a weird question, but now that i think about it, its to build this dance scene and be the best dancer i can be.
and, now I see why i couldnt answer that question, cuz im living out part of that goal, because of everyone who came out, everyone who helped out.
to all those close to me here at jmu, you all are the reason why i stay inspired, and thank you for everything you do, and i just hope that i am giving back to you as much as you have given me.
to all those who thanked me and came up to me to tell me how amazing this weekend was, its not me, its all you. without the teams, without the audience, without the help, this weekend would have not been possible.
i am blessed and proud that i am part of this dance community.
Im gonna put a video out soon, because i honestly can not put what i want to say in words, ill try on a video but, right now im just looking back with a smile

Kufufu [chuckles]. Trainers, more trainers, and— oh, is that a little girl I know ? I thought the nursery rhymes scared the little girls away. Let me see, what was that one again. Maybe I should spill the beans, pull her hair, and snip snip.
Waving her aside, tell me the others got some strength in them or I don’t know what you’re doing, following me like that!

I learned a choreography by Ellen Kim to this piece today, along with many other KODACHROME JMU attendees. I’d like to testify to the power and talent of her as a dancer. Listen to Nicki’s verse, and imagine every single beat being hit hard and fast, and still remaining fun and sexy. I’d have to say this KODACHROME weekend sits as one of my favorite EVER, and I took away so much, not only from Miss Kim, but from all the COALESCENCE performers (CREWcial. Blank Canvas. dop. Bamboom. Mozaic. VA REPRESENT!), as well as the other teachers (My good friend Reza Mina, Bakari Williams, Kianna Clark, Kevin Simon, and Miguel Almario). I know, that i’m not that great of a dancer. Yet. I have so much work to do and I aim to enjoy EVERY minute of it, working towards becoming an amazing dancer. I’ll continue to be heavily involved in KODACHROME. I’ll continue taking workshops, and i’ll travel more often for more. I’ll do WORK for Livin’ Legacy, my newest dance crew and fam. This weekend, I’ve reconfirmed: I’m gonna be a dancer, for life. Its to do with your hair, like, a kink in your hair is sort of messy.
“Oh-…! T-That m-… makes s-sense.” He nodded in understanding, smiling. “Ah… b-but why d-does a-anyone l-… likes that…? I hate i-it w-… when my hair i-is messy…”
