Second chance - Day 6 - counting down
Today, Wednesday, May 23rd, is the first day after my Cisco exam. I am planning to study for about six days and then review for one day. I want to study for about six full days as described in the previous post.
Day 6 – Things to reinforce:
• AAA part – theory and CLI commands and SDM - 1.5 hours
• AAA lab – 2 hours
• Secure the router – the part before AAA - 1/2 hour
• Topics related to views – Need to be master very well - 1/2 hour
Total time is about 4.5 hours. There are break but this represents the total proposed studying time for Day 6.
Week 1 - Tuesday updates
Short story:
Labs: Finally, I set up my GNS3 lab on my desktop. I installed a few programs in the VirtualBox’s WinXP machine too. I thank God that setup lab has been successfully tested.
Books: Following Paquet’s book, I went slowly over the Fundamentals of Cryptography. I am very familiar with the cryptography services. I went over the symmetric algorithms and asymmetric, public-key algorithms. I studied the whole chapter but the PKI certificate, the last section of this book.
I spent almost all morning setting up the GNS 3 on my laptop just to give up because I was not able to find IDLE-PC for the IOS image.
I studied about two hours on the Fundamentals of Cryptography chapter. I am planning to finish it Wednesday, tomorrow in about 30 minutes.
Until around 9:00 PM I made sure the GNS lab is working properly. Currently, I am using Ubuntu 11.04 32-bit and GNS 0.8.2 and VirtualBox 4.1.2. I had to compile Dynamips 0.2.8.3-RC3. Before compiling I installed libelf and uuid-dev.
