U guise…..I know I’m probably late but ccmagic is the bomb. I usually use s3pe, it just takes so long and it’s so tedious. ccmagic is easy, fast, and can handle both sims3pack and packages. My game loaded in like a minute and a half…..let me repeat that my game loaded in 00:01:30. I’m not in cas all day…ugh if you’re not already using this you should be. This program is just…ASDFJKL;
S3 PC I had the problem with the patterns and I solved it. I'm using CCmagic and for some reason it 'installed' the patterns there twice or something and that made the problem appear. Disabling the patterns there made everything normal. Just letting you know in case someone else has the same problem or something.

Sorry if someone has already asked this, but do you know if it's okay to merge different types of custom content like build/buy with clothes etc?

I think it’s okay, but I don’t recommend it because if you have an error, want to delete something or anything, you might not know what is what.
But other than that it is fine :)
i have a question about ccmagic. most of my downloads i've deleted because i heard that once you install it, it's saved in my cache. if i use ccmagic, will it effect those files?
CCMagic only affects what you put in the My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Mods > Packages. So it won’t delete or move anything in any other folder, including your cache :)
CC Magic
For a while now, I’ve been letting CC Magic handle only my .sims3packs, but today I’m giving it my hair, non-default skins, contacts, facial details, and clothing packages to see how well it handles them. Hopefully nothing goes wrong, but just in case, I’ve backed up my stuff. Wish me luck, people!

I use CC Magic and I just realized that the sims3packs that I installed using CC Magic are not showing up in my game, they're in the content folder under CC Magic, but not in the game. I've looked around on google and mod the sims and I haven't been able to find any answer to this issue, so I don't know if I've overlooked it or it hasn't been experienced.
EA content, patterns, and worlds cannot be installed using CCMagic.
If your problem relates to any other content, your best bet would probably be to post your question at the Official CCMagic Forums. They are the experts and are usually incredibly prompt and helpful!
