As We Go Along

Head (1968)

Written by Carole King & Toni Stern and arranged by Jack Nitzsche, this delicious slice of pop-folk was the last song to be recorded for Head (May 30th, 1968). The only Monkee here involved is Micky Dolenz on vocals. For the rest it features an incredible combination of session players: Ry Cooder, Danny Kortchmar, Carole King, Ken Bloom on acoustic guitars, while a tasteful electric guitar is performed by none other than Neil Young.
