Chivalry, dead?

It takes some of the simplest things to make me smile. One of those things? A true gentleman. We are growing up in a day and age where men seem to have forgotten the art of “swooning.”
There are so many ways for a man to prove he isn’t another “douche” and that he was raised with class. Of course women notice the extravagant things men do. However, my appreciation rests with the simple things.
I witnessed two men open up the car door for their women this evening. It was a shock the first time, but the second just left me in awe. Each time I literally applauded the men. Those extra few steps won’t kill a man. Regular doors are great as well. It’s a gesture that seems to slowly be fading, but one that I have always greatly appreciated.
Holding hands is another kind of gesture. I don’t know what it is, but seeing that gives me the warm fuzzies. It is the cutest form of PDA that isn’t over bearing. It doesn’t offend. It shows that you are proud to be attached to that person. I don’t know how to explain it, but that is one feeling I love. The feeling of my little hand in the hand of another.
There are so many things that a man could do. Simple tasks. Little gestures. Gentleman are a rare find. We need more gentleman in this world.
I think a bit of my darkness leaked out..

Hey, look. I colored my fingernail in with a sharpie, how cute!
Hey, look. No I didn’t! And it’s been in numbing pain for the past week, how cute!
…and apparently the black is actually blood, I’m due to lose mister thumbnail in a few weeks, too. I think that part is the part that actually frightens me the most.
