“What?!” Belle wasn’t sure if she had heard him correctly.
“Then seduce me,” he repeated, grinning at her as he sat down on a barrel on deck, crossing his arms as he looked at her. “If you want to sleep in my quarters, where you’d be safe from the other pirates, you’ll have to seduce me first.”
Belle gulped, feeling the panic rise in her chest. She couldn’t seduce him - she couldn’t seduce anyone.
“I can’t do this on command,” she defended herself, feeling awkward as he rolled his eyes.
“That’s what you may think, princess, but I know it to be different. You have spent enough time with me to know what I would like - you’re just afraid to put your knowledge into action.”
She took a deep breath, trying to find the courage to do this, but she found herself shivering like a leaf. Still, she knew she had to give it a try, and she slowly walked up to him, feeling even shorter than usual as he sat on the high barrel, looking down at her in anticipation.
“I am afraid,” she admitted quietly, staring at his chest for a moment before she looked up at him. “Afraid I’ll disappoint you.”
His voice turned as quiet as hers and he brought his face closer to hers, apparently enjoying their proximity. “And why do you think you’d disappoint me?”
She bit her lip a little awkwardly, moving even closer to him. “I’m not experienced in these things,” she admitted, glancing up to him for a moment.
“I’m not asking you to be,” he replied with a grin.
Belle smiled in return, feeling a little silly, but slowly she brought her lips closer to his and she kissed him. When she felt how he put his hand against the back of her head to deepen the kiss, she suddenly put her hands on his chest and gently pushed herself away from him.
He looked at her in confusion, but she turned around so that he would not be able to see her expression.
“Belle, what’s wrong?” he suddenly asked, a little worry and panic in his voice. “Did I do something wrong?”
Belle could not help but grin at that question, and she had the idea that maybe now, she could get on top in this game they were playing.
“Nothing’s wrong,” she replied as she turned around, eying him from top to toe in an amusing matter. “Just didn’t want to ruin your appetite before you’d accept me to share your quarters.”
She raised her eyebrows teasingly and Hook suddenly grinned, realizing what she had done.
“Sneaky, Belle, I’ll admit that.” He moved over to the doors of his quarters and opened them. “I guess you’re in then. Speaking of appetite. I am rather hungry.”
Though she still felt rather nervous, the kiss had eased her mind a bit and she moved into the door frame, not backing away from him.
“Well then,” she replied as she tapped her finger against his nose. “Best not to keep the captain waiting, right?”
And with another wink she entered his quarters, feeling that seducing him now might not be as much of a challenge as she had originally thought.
