“So you’re Naruto’s girlfriend?” Sasuke was quiet; his back was facing her as she healed the huge gash across his shoulder blades.
Sakura momentarily froze, before she resumed pumping chakra into him, “Of course not!”
It suddenly dawned on her that Sasuke was talking about the moment with the Fourth that happened ages ago. She laughed, smoothing a hand over his skin to make sure all was mended properly. She turned him around.
“That was just a joke,” she explained and pointed to Naruto being tended to by Hinata on the other side of the tent, “Look at them. Naruto’s never been so serious in his life.”
Sasuke watched as Naruto grinned at Hinata while a deep flush adorned her face. The Hyuuga heiress was holding his hand while Naruto started chatting away about the battlefield.
“Then you still love me?” Sasuke asked, looking away.
The question took Sakura by surprise. She gulped and, “Well—”
Sasuke’s face stopped her. He looked horrified and she hasn’t even said a word. She opened her mouth and closed then furrowed her eyebrows.
“I—what’s wrong?” She felt her breath hitch.
He looked troubled, “I—I’m sorry.”
Something in her snapped as she felt feelings bubble in her throat. “I love you,” she blurted, “I love you and I can’t stop. No matter if you join Akatsuki, attempt to kill me… I love you all the time.”
Sasuke said nothing as he placed a hand on the nape of her neck and pulled her head down.
