California Analog Dream

Vondelpark - California Analog Dream

As a local to the real public park in Amsterdam from which the band borrows their name, I first listened to the mellow vibes of Surrey trio Vondelpark with a fond curiosity - a curiosity that subsequently paid off.

By creating a free flowing sound-scape that incorporates influences from The XX and label mate James Blake, Vondelpark have created something new and beautifully delicate. ‘California Analog Dream’ however isn’t anything we haven’t heard before having been lifted from previous EP ‘Sauna’, but it has been lovingly reworked into something calmly remarkable. It is a lesson in laid back, restrained ferocity - a trait repeatedly associated with Jamie XX.

The newly improved track now features on album ‘Seabed’ which is released today (01/04/13), check out the bands page here:

California Analog Dream - Vondelpark

I like you;

I like how you are blunt about what you want. I like how you nuzzle your cute nose in the crook of my neck as we cuddle in the morning, demanding that we stay in bed a little longer. I like how you glow with enthusiasm every time we try something new in this gigantic city of ours. I like how you glance at me every so often while watching a movie together. I like how I instinctively reach out to hold your hand and you instinctively intertwined your fingers with mine. I like how your kisses linger with the warmest affection like how the mist keeps the forest company. I like how you are a lover unlike any I have met before. In short, this is me telling you that I like you.

He does not need opium. He has the gift of reverie. -Anais Nin
