“I had lived my life one way and I could have just as well have lived it another. I had done this and I hadn't done that. I hadn't' done this thing but I had done another. And so? It was as if I had waited all this time for this moment and for the first light of this dawn to be vindicated. Nothing, nothing mattered, and I knew why. So did he. Throughout the whole absurd life I'd lived, a dark wind had been rising toward me from somewhere deep in my future, across years that were still to come, and as it passed, this wind leveled whatever was offered to me at the time, in years no more real than the ones I was living. What did other people's deaths or a mother's love matter to me; what did his God or the lives people choose or the fate they elect matter to me when we're all elected by the same fate, me and billions of privileged people like him who also called themselves my brothers? Couldn't he see, couldn't he see that? Everybody was privileged. There were only privileged people. The others would all be condemned one day. And he would be condemned too.”
—Albert Camus- The StrangerI have no self control when I find the books I want and they're really cheap!

And then my parents are like “Don’t you have enough books by know?”
My reaction and answer:

What is this thing called ‘too many books’?
Parents: “Yeah but, you’ve got books stacked up on your desk because you’re bookshelf is full.”
Me:

Plus if you care that much get me and adult sized bookshelf instead of the kid one I’ve got now..
Parents reaction to me asking for something I need:

Sorry for the gif dump! XD

most of them are living authors contemporary as shit but we’re also reading William Carlos Williams and ”Howl” and The Great Gatsby
two of the books for my poetry class haven’t even been published yet — new Anne Waldman and Graham Foust — but we’re also reading William Carlos Williams in that class I’m gonna be fuckin’ steeped in Williams next quarter
FUCK I’M SO EXCITED
I also got Supervert’s Necrophilia Variations and Neil Gaiman’s Fragile Things which I somehow haven’t read yet??
GODDAMN
i just ordered books for 700 kr (about $113) as a reward for finishing my book, and four of them are history books (one of which is transgender history! so excited!). mmm, yummy history.
in fairness, tho, the fifth that broke the 700 barrier was me taking advantage on an offer for my grandpa, because he’s obsessed with geraniums to the point he almost drives grandma to tears, no joke. so we got him the geranium bible, because why not.
