The Dude had an Elmo backpack for the last year or so, for day trips, overnights, etc. I never did the diaper bag well, always preferring a small bag that could hold a change of clothes, light blanket, diapers, wipes and snacks. We killed that Elmo bag. The bag actually shredded at the top, just above the straps. I found a Thomas one today, in the car I checked back and he was hugging it, snuggling tight to his face.
Currently:
I have to get dressed up today AND tomorrow. Today is the Mother’s Social at mini’s school.
It’s hardly fancy, but the kids dress up and serve tea and ice cream sundaes to their moms.
One year, in kindergarten, it was requested that we dress up semi formal, like the derby. So I wore a fancy flower dress, and instead of wearing a hat, I put fake birds in my hair. I looked pretty amazing, if I do say so. When mini came out to show me to tea, she grinned so big, I thought her face would split.
This year, she got dressed up, for her, and asked me to dress up a little. So I’ll pull something together. I kindof want to bring my Thor hammer as an accessory, but it’s pouring rain and I may just keep it simple.
This is one of my favorite days of the year. Also. Ice cream sundaes.
