I really don’t care for homestuck, but I have to say, there’s an easier way to cosplay the trolls than that long list of Ben Nye items that’s floating around. All you need is Ben Nye Aqua Paint in gray and a can of hair spray. Trust someone who’s actually taken a theatre makeup class and has cosplay experience with the stuff. My ex cosplayed Ulquiorra from Bleach a few years ago so I painted him in white Ben Nye Aqua Paint. I didn’t even need a base or anything. I put this on his face, neck, ears, hands, chest, everything that was exposed. Yes, that’s right, his hands too. When it dried I sprayed him with hairspray and that shit stayed all day. He could eat, drink, touch stuff, etc. He did everything normally without any of the makeup smudging. He had to scrub to get it off in the shower too. (And there was still some in his ear about a week later.) And he was perfectly white. I wish I still had pictures to show how well it turned out. He was spot-on for the character, no skin color showing through or streaks or anything.
Just through I’d throw out there that there’s an easier way without having to buy so many things because Ben Nye is expensive. (And for a good reason.)
