What's good for acne scars? And not too painful price-wise!
As far as acne scars go, nothing is going to come super cheap. The most effective solution is undergoing treatments like laser but these can be very, very, very exy so if you aren’t willing to dish out the cash you’ll have to use certain products and you won’t be able to expect overnight changes.
Acne scars aren’t actually scars. They’re this thing we refer to as post inflammation pigmentation. In short acne scars are basically dark spots (think of it like spots you get from the sun, but a little different) and because of this you cannot use a rosehip oil, vitamin e oil, etc to fade them and treat them as scars. Instead you need to treat them as discolouration.
I’m a huge advocate for organic and natural skincare products but in this case it can be extremely difficult to find darkness correctors which are free of harsh chemicals but here’s a few that don’t contain as many nasty ingredients but still get the job done.
Juice Beauty Green Apple Antioxidant Serum.
From one of my favourite brands out there, is this antioxidant serum. It does an amazing job at fading pigmentation, sun spots and acne scars, not to mention it’s organic and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin.

Origins is one of my favourite natural brands because they are available in a vast majority of locations and have amazing products. This product was formulated with Dr. Andrew Weil. It claims to reduce dark spots in up to four weeks and is suitable for all skin tones and types and is free of the harsh chemicals that many darkness correctors contain.
Dr Gennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution
As it turns out Dr Gennis Gross products are free of just about all the nasties in commercial skin care which is something I’m super pleased to hear! Just about every person who’s used this that I know of loves it and has seen great results!

Much to my dismay palmers isn’t natural/organic but this product is free of parabens which is at least one plus. The main reason I have chosen to include this is because it’s available in most countries and is one of the more affordable dark spot correctors on the market. This dark spot corrector is suitable for all skin types and skin tones and contains the pigment perfecting Songyi Mushroom as a key ingredient.
Other information that you still need to know:
One of the key things you need to do when using darkness correcting products is protect your skin. If you use these products without using any sun protection they aren’t going to work because the sun will just darken your spots all over again. Not only that but most darkness correctors contain ingredients which make your skin more sensitive to the sun so it’s important to use a sunscreen that protects from UVA and UVB rays with an SPF of at-least 30.
Another thing which is extremely important to remember when trying to correct darkness using spot correctors is that you need to be patient. You aren’t going to see results overnight, in a weeks time and some cases even a month, continual use is a must.
I also suggest using products which are designed to brighten and add radiance to the skin, these can help with diffusing the appearance of dark spots. (I love Burt’s Bees radiance line)

PS: Maybelline has recently come out with a concealer which is designed to cover and treat dark spots. Smashbox also has a primer in their photo finish range which is designed to treat dark spots as well!
This guide is for acne scars which have left discolouration on the skin. If you are suffering from what we call “ice pick” acne scars (which leave a dent in the skin) there isn’t too much you can do to get rid of them (at least not on a budget, regular microdermabrasion, chemical peels, punch excision and laser resurfacing can work but they can be very harsh on the skin and extremely expensive) So instead use a resurfacing primer and conceal them with these tips.

Urban Rituelle Sweet Treat Lip Balm Trio.
Urban Rituelle is one of my FAVOURITE brands and it’s mainly because of their lip balms. This set contains three Urban Rituelle Sweet Treat lip balms all packaged in a cute christmas cracker shaped box.

LUXURY GIFTS:

Clinique Whole Lotta Colour Gift Set:
I’ve only tried one Clinique chubby stick but boy oh boy do I like them! They are very hydrating, glide on like a balm and have a subtle amount of colour so just about any shade looks great on anyone! This kit contains 5 mini Clinique Chubby Sticks in Richer Raisin, Super Strawberry, Chunky Cherry, Oversized Orange and Curvy Candy.

* Benefit She’s So Jetset kit:
This kit is certainly one of my favourites. It includes a mini porefessional, four highly pigmented and universally eye shadows that you can use for your run of the mill neutral look or your smokey eye. A first class face powder duo, a mini lipgloss (life on the A list, I personally find this shade to white/light for me so it makes me look a little washed out) and a mini they’re real (which has quickly become of my favourite mascaras)

*Nvey Eco Eye Shadow Palette:
This palette isn’t a holiday exclusive but it contains 5 well selected shadow shades in every palette. The colour is build-able and the shadows have a smooth and easy application with minimal fall out.
I’ve tried my best to suggest gift sets which are easily available to most of you but most brands have different sets per different countries.

COFFEE BODY SCRUB- SUPER EASY!!
Hi ya’ll~
Did you see Nikki’s post about her being grounded? Sucks, huh :( Anyway,s as I’m sure you all know by now, I am definitely all for a bargain and a cheap (and NOT nasty) DIY, so here’s a fresh one!
So one of my extremely close friends’s birthday was yesterday, and unfortunately, i had nothing to give to her! I then remembered that one time at this hotel there was this coffee body scrub that smelled absolutely devine and left my skin super smooth, and I knew I would be able to whip up a batch using ingredients I already had in my house.
You will need;
- equal parts ground coffee and raw sugar - 1 table spoon olive oil - 2 table spoons coconut oil and thats all!

Always add all the dry ingredients first, and the top it off with the oil, adding more coffee/sugar to create the consistency you prefer.
I adore this stuff, smells so good you’ll want to eat it……..
ENJOY!
