Impromptu

Django Reinhardt

Impromptu, an original tune by Django Reinhardt, from his later bop years.

According to Michael Dregni,

a refinement of Dizzy’s proto-bop tune Be Bop from the mid-1940s and one of Django’s most exciting songs ever. It was both old and new, a modernistique bebop rendition of Les yeux noirs

Recorded at Decca Studios, Paris, 11 May 1951.
In the picture, Django Reinhardt and his son, Babik Reinhardt.

HOLY CRAP.

Be Bop is delicious. It’s kind of pricy, though. But worth it. So worth it.

Asian food makes me happy.
