THE UC BAKE SALE
The bake sale is meant to be a metaphor for what the affirmative action bill will promote if passed. If people really don’t want to be recognized by the color of their skin or gender, then why would one approve?”
The current bill would not violate that ban. (209 from 1996) Instead it would permit schools to consider things such as ethnicity, much as they do extracurricular activities, when weighing candidates
Affirmative Action - refers to policies that take factors including “race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or national origin” into consideration in order to benefit an underrepresented group, usually as a means to counter the effects of a history of discrimination.

Bake Sale Recipes.
Just over a week ago, I had a bake sale to raise money for children who were orphaned in the Japanese tsunami last year. All the recipes for these cakes come from my wordpress blog: Wake Me Up With A Smile
trite (adj.): boring, overused, hackneyed
“I hated roses. I hated them for being so trite, so clichéd, a default, all-purpose flower that said I love you, I’m sorry, and get well soon. Give me peonies and tulips, orchids or gardenia. Those were flowers with character.”
― Justina Chen Headley, North of Beautiful
Sounds like: try it
I know raising the money with a bake sale would be really trite, but it’s overused because it works! Let’s try it.
P.S.: I couldn’t post yesterday because life got in the way, so I’ll make up for it by posting tomorrow! (Normally, I don’t post on Fridays.)
