Tribute to Auntie Annies
News was going around the Northern Irish music scene of the closure of local venue Auntie Annies that will be happening on the 26th April. I will be honest, I was never the biggest fan of Annies, primarily due to it’s terrible lighting. However, I have had many of great memories and have had many of great times down in the venue over the years. Here is a collection of photos I have taken over the years, in tribute to this venue.
First ever gig I went to in the venue was literally just over 3 years ago this month to catch the band Exit and many other top notch acts.

- R51

- Goodbye Pluto

- Exit
Few months later I was back for the month Best of Local event that was happening. The night featured R51, Bandwagon, Trucker Diablo and, funny enough, Exit. However, the night ended rather disastrously as a member of Exit packed up his gear and left straight after Trucker Diablo to which many of people will rather peeved. None the less, it was still a pretty good night!

- R51

- Bandwagon

- Trucker Diablo
It wasn’t until a year later when I was asked to cover the “Metal As …” gig put on by the lads of Warcrux, which featured September Cross, Warcrux, By Any Means and Sinocence. Thankfully I had the right gear to be able to work with the awful lighting this time!

- September Cross

- Warcrux straight after their set.

- Anto from Sinocence getting in on the fun with By Any Means

- Sinocence
Gosh I fairly spread out the gigs in this place! Summer 2012 I decided to pop on down to catch In Elegance on their Belfast date of their mini tour. Plus to catch the last Belfast performance of the band with the legend himself, guitarist Ryan McCormack. Was good to catch the couple of bands from Dublin supporting on the night as well.

- Kickstart The Season

- In Elegance
Finally, my last show in the place, was probably my favourite show. I got in to cover the Eric Martin (Mr. Big) acoustic show in the venue, along with my sister who decided to tag along. It was indeed a very special night, full of great music and great fun.

- Pat McManus, performing his first ever solo acoustic set.
People from Belfast!
I am playing bass for a gig next Saturday in Auntie Annies. It’s £5 at the door as it is for charity and we are promoting our new album!
So anyone that follows me from Belfast area *I’m looking at you! and you! and you better like this or ill pester your ask box about something irrelevant and guilt you into going “It’s for charity! where’s your heart?!”
Nah, I am only joking. It’ll be a good night and the songs are so feel good that you’ll forget your name.
That’s right, I am implying that this gig will have the power to make you forget your own name.
3 days left!
So…we’re being extremely fat as soon as we hit Tuscaloosa. Banana wants Auntie Annies ( and i do too of course ) BUT i reallyyyyyy want some cheese fries from Sonic. Those things just speak to me. lmbo but yea. Those are the first two stops after we drop all these dang bags n’shit off. Not gonna wanna do that after i’ve eaten and got all lazy like.
