MOSSAD blamed for yet another assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist
AN Iranian nuclear scientist has been killed and two people injured when a magnetic bomb attached to a car by a duo on a motorbike exploded outside a Tehran university, Iranian news agencies said.
An Iranian official said Israel was behind the attack, pointing to similarities with previous killings of other nuclear scientists.
The person killed was identified by several media as Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, a scientist who worked on separating gases at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, according to the website of a different university from which he graduated around a decade ago.
“This morning a motorbiker attached a bomb to a Peugeot 405, which exploded,” the governor of Tehran province, Safar Ali Bratloo, was quoted as saying by the ILNA news agency on Wednesday.
“The responsibility of this explosion falls on the Zionist regime,” Bratloo told Iran’s Arabic-language Al-Alam broadcaster.
“The method of this terrorist action is similar to previous actions that targeted Iran’s nuclear scientists,” he said.
The explosion occurred outside the east Tehran campus of Allameh Tabatai University, at its social sciences faculty.
Ahmadi Roshan was killed and the two wounded passengers were taken to hospital, Bratloo said.
Sharif University, Tehran’s elite technical university where the slain scientist had studied, said Ahmadi Roshan was specialised in making polymeric membranes used to separate gas. Iran uses gas separation to enrich uranium.
Three other Iranian scientists were killed in 2010 and 2011 when their cars blew up in similar circumstances. At least two of the scientists had also been working on nuclear activities.
One of the attacks occurred exactly two years ago, on January 11, 2010, killing scientist Masoud Ali Mohammdi.
The current head of Iran’s atomic organisation, Fereydoun Abbasi, escaped another such attempt in November 2010, getting out of his car with his wife just before the attached bomb exploded.
Those attacks were viewed by Iranian officials as assassination operations carried out by Israel’s Mossad intelligence service, possibly with help from US counterparts.
The latest blast comes amid extremely high international tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, which the West and Israel believe conceals research to develop an atomic bomb.
Israel has threatened to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The United States has said “all options are on the table” in terms of dealing with Iran - including military action.
Tehran, which has repeatedly denied that its nuclear program is for anything other than peaceful purposes, has threatened to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Gulf if it is attacked. Twenty per cent of the world’s oil flows through that strait.
Wednesday’s car explosion followed confirmation on Monday by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran had started uranium enrichment at a fortified underground bunker southwest of Tehran, in Fordo.
The United States, Britain, France, Germany and Italy have viewed that development with alarm, saying it was a violation of UN Security Council resolutions on Iran.

That isn’t a myth or a cliché. Not only do I think that a Secret Service agent would take a bullet for the President, but a Secret Service agent already HAS taken a bullet for the President!

Behind McCarthy, Secret Service agent Jerry Parr is shoving President Reagan into the limo. Not only is McCarthy reacting to the gunshots, he’s turning the front of his body towards them:
This is no accident or stroke of bad luck. Milliseconds have passed, but Agent McCarthy has shifted his body into a wide stance and is literally shielding President Reagan, who can still somewhat be seen directly behind McCarthy as Agent Parr keeps shoving the President into the limousine:
In that instant, as Hinckley was firing his shots at President Reagan, Agent McCarthy instinctively (yet consciously) recognized the danger, understood the consequences, realized what he had been trained to do, and, yes, in a superhero move, used his body as a shield and took a bullet for the President of the United States:
Of course, we know that President Reagan was still shot and nearly killed during this assassination attempt, but the bullet that struck Reagan had ricocheted off the limo and hit him. The quick-thinking and incredible heroism of Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy probably saved the 70-year-old President from taking another bullet, and he probably saved lead agent Jerry Parr from being shot, as well.
To reiterate, Tim McCarthy didn’t just happen to accidentally get caught in the crossfire — he consciously turned himself towards the gunfire, purposely spread himself into a wide stance, and used his body as a shield so that John Hinckley, Jr. would shoot him instead of President Reagan. So, yes, I think other Secret Service agents would do the same. In fact, one member of President Truman’s protective detail was killed and two were wounded in 1950 when two Puerto Rican nationalists tried to shoot their way into Blair House, the temporary Presidential home while the White House was being renovated, and assassinate President Truman.
By the way, Agent McCarthy fully recovered from his wound.
Yet Another Democrat Tries to Assassinate an American President
I laughed out loud when I learned that the man who sent poisoned letters to President Obama is a Democrat. And then I thought, “Well doesn’t that figure?”
The would-be assassin, whose fame I will not contribute to by writing his name, sent letters laced with ricin to Obama and to Republican Senator Roger Wicker. Inhaling the toxin is deadly, and all it takes to kill a human is an amount 1/288 the size of an aspirin.
A picture of the man, a white guy whom I will henceforth refer to as John, surfaced on the Internet (where pictures are wont to surface). It comes from his Facebook page and shows him kneeling down beside the back bumper of a car, which has a sticker on it that reads, “Christian and a Democrat.” John is giving the sticker a thumbs-up.
However, his Facebook page lists his political views as “Independent.” So the fact that he gave a pro-Democrat bumper sticker a thumbs-up and also tried killing a Democratic president likely means he is one of those people who feel that Obama is too moderate, that the Democratic Party is not suitably liberal, and therefore has registered as an Independent.
Even I initially thought that whoever did it was either a Republican or some backwoods, tinfoil-hat-wearing pseudo-Libertarian. Now that it’s come out he is a Democrat/Independent, it’s no surprise; virtually every assassin or would-be assassin of American presidents, both Republican and Democrat, have been leftists (to the extent that their political views are known).
Successful assassins (whose politics we know):
- John Wilkes Booth, a Democrat, shot and killed President Lincoln
- Charles Guiteau, a member of the communist Oneida Community, shot and killed President Garfield
- Leon Czolgosz, a leftist anarchist (similar to the useful idiots in the Occupy movement) shot and killed President McKinley
- Lee Harvey Oswald, a communist, shot and killed President Kennedy.
Failed assassins (whose politics we know):
- Severino Di Giovanni, a leftist anarchist, tried to bomb President-elect Hoover’s train
- Giuseppe Zangara, a professed anti-capitalist, tried shooting President-elect Franklin Roosevelt
- Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola, two Marxists, tried killing President Truman at the Blair House
- Samuel Byck, who tried joining the leftist Black Panther group, attempted to kill President Nixon
- Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, member of the Manson Family and also a hippie environmentalist, shot at President Ford
- Sara Jane Moore tried to kill President Ford as well because, as she said, “the government had declared war on the Left.”
- Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, a leftist connected to the Occupy movement, tried getting a one-in-a-billion shot at President Obama by firing a gun at the White House
The only individual whose political motivations can be deduced as coming from the right side of the political spectrum is Francisco Martin Duran, who claims he was “incited” by conservative talk-show host Chuck Baker, but also claimed that he was trying to save the world from an alien mist which was connected by an umbilical cord to another alien in the Colorado mountains. So there’s that.
All conservatives, let alone decent human beings, should be upset at any assassination attempt against any president, even Obama. Fortunately I haven’t seen any conservatives bummed out that John, with the ricin letters, failed to kill Obama. As awful—my word, just awful—a president as Obama is, and as evil as some of us, including I, think he is, he still has a wife and two children and they don’t deserve their husband and father, respectively, being taken away like that. Plus, though it’s an unfortunate fact, the fact is that Obama is the representative of America to the world. An attempt to kill him is symbolic of an attack on America.
So hopefully John with the ricin letters will be apprehended and receive capital punishment.

Nine killed in US assassination drone attacks in Yemen

At least nine people have been killed in two separate US assassination drone attacks in Yemen.
The first drone strike killed seven people travelling in a vehicle near the town of Khawlan, about 35 kilometers (20 miles) southeast of the capital Sana’a, on Wednesday.
On the same day, two other people died in another attack on a house in the town of Radda in al-Bayda province.
Three people were also reportedly injured in the second strike.
The United States has launched numerous drone attacks in Yemen that have killed many innocent civilians over the past few years.
Washington claims that its airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of the non-UN-sanctioned airstrikes.
The United States has come under fire for increasing its drone attacks in the Arab country. Yemenis have held many demonstrations to condemn the United States’ violations of their national sovereignty.
A US drone strike killed between 14-35 people in Afghanistan on Monday, the day of President Obama’s inauguration.
Musa Kusa not offerred immunity from British and international law - too right
William Hague has just said that Musa Kusa, the former foreign minister of Libya who landed in the UK yesterday, will not be offered any immunity from international or British justice. Anyone who leaves the sinking ship at this stage is bound to be a rat, and the UK government is right to treat him as an enemy.
The press release from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office makes a point of using the word ‘resignation’ when talking about Kusa and ‘defection’ when talking about those who left earlier on in the revolution. In other words, this is no hero, but a captured deserter.
In the seventies, Kusa was a spy based out of different Libyan embassies in Europe before being appointed as Libya’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom in 1980. He was expelled from the UK in 1980, after announcing to a reporter from The Times outside the Libyan embassy in London, ‘The revolutionary committees have decided last night to kill two more people in the United Kingdom. I approve of this.’ And guess what? He followed through.
After he was expelled from the UK and while he served as Gaddafi’s spymaster, Libyan dissidents were assassinated around Europe right up until 1995, when Ali Abuzeid, an exiled Libyan dissident, was assassinated in London.
So brazen were Kusa and the rest of Gaddafi’s clique that on 17 April 1984, Libyan officials fired two machine guns from their embassy at a crowd of people outside who were protesting the public hanging of dissidents in Libya. Eleven people were gunned down, and one ended up dead. The embassy was besieged and its entire staff expelled, cutting diplomatic ties between the UK and Libya.

Two Gaddafi supporters who attended Michigan State University in the seventies played key roles in the Libyan assassination campaigns carried out in the eighties.

Those supporters were Musa Kusa (foreign minister until yesterday) and Abdul Ghader El-Baghdadi. Both are under investigation by the ICC. The latter is the current prime minister of Libya and was named on 26 February as one of the subjects of a travel ban issued by the UN Security Council (named as Al-Baghdadi, Dr Abdulqader Mohammed, see statement by European Union, and UN Security Council Resolution 1970 and press release).

Kusa produced pro-Gaddafi propaganda while at MTU and tried to recruit non-Libyan Arabs (not sure why - audio is unclear). After leaving the US, he was made ‘head’ (ambassador, effectively) of the Libyan ‘People’s Bureau’ (embassy) in London.

Less than a year later, he was expelled for masterminding a campaign to assassinate Libyan dissidents in the UK. A newspaper headline reads, ‘Killing will go on, says the kicked out Libyan’.

The video cuts to a statement from a police spokesman who says that Baghdadi, a ‘sociology student’ in the UK, was one of the people deported four years later, after the siege of the Libyan embassy, in 1984. Police suspected that he was one of the organisers of the shooting that led to the siege. He is described by dissidents as an agent of ‘terror and assassination’ against Libyan exiles living in the UK.
The UK government has been pushing for Gaddafi’s prosecution before the International Criminal Court, of which it is a party. Now that Kusa is in their hands, lets hope they give him the same honour.
