Hi :) I just what to share my sentiments, because I think no one will understand :/ I don't hate Leo Valdez. I also don't dislike him. I'm kinda neutral about him. He really is a nice character and really funny, but I think I'm drowning in this "Leo Love" that the fandom gives him. There are posts that says if you hate Leo then you should get out of the fandom, etc. It's just so annoying. Because of those overreacting fans that I'm kinda starting to dislike him, though I have no reason to D:

Don’t worry, a lot of my negative thoughts towards him are also based in part from a fandom who see him as this perfect little asshole whose terrible behavior is something to squeal about two hundred times a day. They see no problem with the fact that he is a bully, whines about not getting the recognition he thinks he deserves and tries actually never to really understand anybody elses pain. They only really see that he is a smart-talking genius kid with a tragic past, who hides his ~pain~ behind his jokes, and while that is kinda relatable??/, I can’t really get behind a character whose fans (and canon for that matter) refuse to acknowledge his shortcomings as actual shortcomings. (Of course not all of them are this way, but there are a lot of them.)

So you sound a lot like me in regards to Percy for a long part of my fandom experience, and there’s nothing wrong with that, yo. Fandom has this equal chance of making you love/hate a character more.
