do you know why I fucking love season 5? not only is this season so shiny and hilarious and epic, it is just absolutely BEAUTIFUL. this season really brought out france’s beauty that some people have never seen before. 

i mean, LOOK AT ALL THOSE EMOTIONS ON HIS FACE. shock, hope, realization and disappointment— all in one shot. it’s heartbreakingly beautiful. 

at a first glance, this is more adorable than sad, right? but seriously, look how HAPPY he is. the thought of jeanne doesn’t always have to be sad for france. he is already happy by the fact that people actually know and remember her in the first place. 

but wait a fucking second because LOOK AT HOW SAD HE IS WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT HER DEATH. JEANNE’S DEATH. no matter how hard france wants to try and pretend to be happy, this still was TRAGIC for him. he really loved her and it is heartbreaking that she had to leave him. when she died, he realized that people he loved will eventually leave him. this really is the curse of nations. 

even with that cold hard realization, this episode still managed to end it so beautifully. even though france is lonely, he knows that it worked out for the best in the end. once he found that jeanne’s reincarnation is living a good life, he was just content with that— as long as she is happy now. okay, this REALLY shows how much france fucking loves her.
