I really hope no one uses an artificial sweetener in their teas! All artificial sweeteners are actual toxic! VERY bad for you! If you don’t want to use plain old sugar, try Stevia! It’s an herb that is a little bit sweeter than sugar and you can buy it at grocery stores in bags ready to use! That’s what I use.

To health! <3

Regarding Artificial Sugars & Sweeteners

Speaking with my endocrinologist today, she told me about studies that are being done on artificial sugars and sweeteners. Apparently there’s a strong correlation between the introduction of such products to our society (and one’s diet) and the increase in American obesity. There are suspicions that these products may actually trigger hunger or through some other means directly contribute to weight gain.

As for me, I avoid artificial sugars and sweeteners because they tend to have nasty affects on my blood sugar. But my recommendation is to stay away when possible. My endo specifically said that, when given the choice, one should always try to choose natural sugar over artificial. We fuss about this with produce and meat; why do so few pay mind to consuming a natural/organic version of the plant product we call sugar?

For those of you that don't know...

1. Yes I’m aware it’s saccharin and not sacchariine, or saccharine if you’re talking about something sweet. I’ve won awards for my creative writing, was top of my class in english year 10, and am currently minoring in english at university. I also want to become a teacher so *gasp* I will be teaching your children english. There goes the world!

2. I know saccharin is fake… hence why if you look at the top right corner of my blog you’ll see artificial sweetener -.-

They go hand in hand don’t they?

3. No I am not fake. This is not a spambot. I’m a a real working human being! My blog’s name/user is a double entendre. The double “i” in sacchariine is there because it’s MY blog and I like it. There are a lot of reasons behind my blog’s title, but I’ll explain the most coherent one.

Saccharine is an adjective used to imply that something is sweet/sugary. Saccharin as previously mentioned is an artificial sweetner, but has a bitter aftertaste. So yes, they both relate to food (which I’m obsessed with), but I decided to attribute their definitions to myself.

People tend to think I’m nice or “sweet,” (do you get it yet?) and I can be. I am 90% of the time, or at least I like to think so. But then that’s just it. I like to think so. There’s also a really nasty side of me deep deep down. It takes a lot to awaken it, but when it’s out, it’s best you run for cover. I have a temper, I admit it, but only when it comes to dealing with bullshit. I don’t “sugarcoat” anything. So y’know, “that” happend and then people tend to think “Oh hey, maybe she’s not so sweet after all.” (Ok, you must get it by now.) So that’s what it is, artificial sweetener. Looks like sugar, tastes like a sugar, but if you really examine it, it’s not sugar at all. It’s actually a quite bitter.

My tumblr is the most honest representation of myself. There is not one post that I would delete or even consider deleting. So that being said, I’m actually pretty real and down to earth if you get to know me. With regards to the name, maybe that was a misrepresentation on my part, or a misinterpretation on your part.

So now you know a little bit about me old followers, and new, which I haven’t yet said hi to. So hi! Oh, I almost forgot, hi haters! <3

The yogurt doesn’t care whether or not you read it, it will still be artificially sweetened. At a certain point we’ll realize that it’s 2012 and yogurt generally doesn’t have real sugar in it anymore. Grocery shopping is an experiment in adaptation and acceptance. It’s hard to break old habits. The truth is not enduring, though that would provide so much comfort.

So I usually have three packets of artificial sweetener everyday in my coffee . . . .

. . and I’m kind of wondering if I should switch back to Sugar in the Raw.

artificially sweet!

okay, here i give you a riview for artificial sweetener.

been using equal and tropicana slim all this time!

  vs

but i can only get TS from indonesia. so whenever i comeback to indo i always buy some pack of those.

basically my choice fall for TS. its good for baking!! it doesnt stated that it makes a good use for baking and cooking at the package but my opinion is it really does!

for equal, i prefer it because the taste is quite strong for coffee and drinks, it do quite well in baking or cooking but, not as fabulous as TS to be honest.

wanted to try splenda, but its quite troublesome to find it in singapore. not all supermarket sold it. :(

anyway, i am waiting the liquid splenda to come so lets see how it will taste in baking stuff later ya? :D

any pros and cons for sweetener? please leave reply :D

ps. i am not endorsing these brands but i am just doing some personal review. :D

woah aspartiame that is in diet cola and the such well...

its not all that safe… O_O its the drink companies that do the testing and they altered the results to say this is safe and when it has been tested it has been found to cause sesures in monkeys and canser in mice and the such (aspartiame is an artificial sweetener in such drinks as pepsi max and diet coke) and as well as animals people who consume a large amount of the artifical sweetener have been found to have sesures with shocking recoveries once they have stopped taking it.
