Hi there! First off, thank you so much for running this blog! I just stumbled upon it but it's so interesting that I had to follow it immediately! Secondly, I would like to know if you guys have other history blogs (whether art- or fact-oriented) that you follow/like? I'd like to add more to my dashboard but when I actively look for some, I can't dig up anything that catches my attention. I apologize if this is a question you can't/won't answer or if it's been answered before!

Hi! :)

We don’t follow any blogs using “ancientpeoples” as it’s a secondary blog but we can recommend ones that follow us/reblog our stuff/we follow on our personal blogs/are generally all round awesome:

Ancient Art

Archaeological News

Centuries Past

All Mesopotamia

My Ancient World

OMG That Artifact

Non Western Historical Fashion

Art of Swords

HISTORICITY (was already taken)

Those are all that I can think of off the top of my head but if other admin wish to add to this list then they are more than welcome to!

Art of Swords

If you like swords, sword lore, and history of weapons, then I suggest Art of Swords.  Probably one of my “blogs of the year” (it’s as good as Ugly Renaissance Babies.)

You have a truly kick ass blog of very scarce and unique beautiful weapons, I've thoroughly enjoyed every bit of your postings!

Thanks a million! Its the copacetic guys and gals like you that fuel the gilded and scrolled war machine we run here! I would however like to point out a few blogs that we might have not survived without.

peashooter85 for formerly maintaining the place and being quite generally one of the most erudite and affable men I’ve known when he’s not sending photos of phallic looking tubers and Elizabethan catcalls to complete strangers

ghost-of-gold and his neato #antiques tag from which we culled much fine material

art-of-swords for their blisteringly large collection of posts upon ornate and splendid blades

And finally the innumerable other contributors of the gilded and tacky implements of war here on tumblr, to which there is not enough space in appropriate medium to name right now. To them and to you all, we tip our hats.

I LOVE Assassin's Creed. I started the Weapons of Assassin's Creed series to be able to make use of the games and the swords and weapons there. :D What's your favorite game and character? And thank youuuu! :D

My favourite game? Oh my what an hard question! Maybe Revelations because it ties Altaïr, Ezio and Desmond all together. Because there’s the chance to know more about Subject 16 - sorry, Clay - too (and Lucy’s betrayal left me speechless, I was not expecting that. Still love Lucy though.). Because I loved the Sofia interactions. And I loved the finale so much! The end of the world plus Ezio talking to Desmond it’s just asdfghjkl! But I haven’t played the second one in ages since mine has a problem. I’ll have to re-buy it.

And my favourite character… Shaun. Kidding. Maria. Maria is probably my favourite character. I love the other assassins (Ezio, Desmond and Altaïr) in the same way even though I may feel closer to Ezio because we’ve spent way more time with him and he’s a really sweet smartass. Can’t wait for AC III, I’m so so so excited!

What about you? :)

Oh! That is unusual, I mean Maria, I heard not many liking her. My favorite... well, I'll be transparent and utterly normal, but Ezio. And Leonardo, but AC2 made him such a wimp and he was so far from that. LOL Or Leonardo first and then Ezio, hard to choose. xD

OH MY GOD I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT LEO! I love him too… SO FREAKING MUCH! And still… it doesn’t beat Maria. I know it’s super weird since we’ve seen her only once or twice but I really loved her lines and her attitude. I don’t know she got to me. But oh well… I doubt there is an AC fan who doesn’t have Ezio in his/her favourites. He’s just… Ezio.
